Chapter-5 & 6

Chapter 5: A Flame That Could Burn

Their bond deepened, but so did the obstacles they faced.

Aryan’s company received an enticing offer to expand to Dubai – a venture that would require all his focus. At the same time, Lumé’s investors were urging for rapid growth across India, cautioning Rhea against any distractions.

One evening at Olive Bar, Rhea decided to confront him.

“You’re really thinking about leaving?”

Aryan held her gaze. “I have to. This is the opportunity I’ve been working towards.”

Rhea tightened her grip on her glass. “And what about us? Does that mean nothing to you?”

Aryan paused. “I thought we agreed – business comes first.”

For the first time, Rhea felt her confidence falter. “Maybe I wanted more than just late-night meetings.”

The air was thick with tension. By the time Aryan dropped her off at home, the silence between them felt like a chasm.

Chapter 6: The Breaking Point

Weeks passed without a word. Rhea buried herself in work, launching Lumé’s new collection. Aryan prepared for Dubai.

But one night, standing outside Lumé’s flagship store, Aryan hesitated. Through the glass, he watched Rhea as she directed her team.

Before he could leave, she stepped outside.

“Following me now?” Rhea teased, but there was no venom in her voice.

Aryan sighed. “I thought I’d congratulate you on the new launch.”

Rhea folded her arms. “Thank you. But that doesn’t fix things.”

Aryan met her gaze. “I don’t want to lose you, Rhea.”

She exhaled, her defenses cracking. “I never asked you to choose. I just wanted to know if I mattered enough.”

Aryan stepped closer. “You do.”
